Cameron Carter-Vickers, Celtic capture Scottish Cup to seal domestic double

Scottish Premiership winners Celtic have completed yet another domestic double.

Cameron Carter-Vickers and the rest of Brendan Rodgers’ squad downed rivals Rangers 1-0 on Saturday at Hampden Park, lifting the Scottish Cup in the process. Carter-Vickers and Celtic already lifted the league title earlier this month and capped off their competitive schedule in dramatic fashion in Glasgow.

Adam Idah, who entered the match as a second-half substitute, scored in the 90th minute to seal the triumph for Celtic. Carter-Vickers logged his latest 90 minutes in the Celtic backline, lifting the sixth trophy of his club career.

The 26-year-old overcame a few injuries this season to feature in a total of 30 matches in all competitions. Carter-Vickers was named to the PFA Scottish Premiership Best XI this season, which marked his third overall nod.

Carter-Vickers now heads into U.S. men’s national team duty in the coming weeks with Gregg Berhalter’s squad facing Colombia and Brazil on June 8 and 11 respectively. Following that, the Americans will kick off the 2024 Copa America against Bolivia.

Carter-Vickers will hope a strong end to his third Celtic season will push him into Berhalter’s final roster for the competition.
