Ten weeks since his last appearance, Josh Sargent finally made his long-awaited return for Norwich City.

Sargent played the final 11 minutes of the Canaries’ 4-0 FA Cup loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday at Carrow Road. A groin injury sidelined Sargent since late-October but the U.S. men’s national team forward enjoyed a slight cameo today for his first appearance of 2025.

Georginio Rutter’s first-half brace paired with Julio Enciso and Solly March’s second-half goals helped the visiting Seagulls book their place in the fourth round.

Sargent replaced Ante Crnac in the 79th minute but struggled to make much of an impact in the final minutes. He had five touches and completed one pass.

The 24-year-old’s return is a welcomed sight for Norwich City, who sit 11th in the EFL Championship table. Sargent scored four goals prior to his injury.

Johannes Hoff Thorup’s squad next visit Sheffield United and Leeds United in back-to-back league trips over the next 11 days.
