Cade Cowell’s absence from Chivas de Guadalajara’s recent Liga MX loss to Club America could reportedly keep him sidelined for a lengthy period of time.

Cowell missed the match due to a muscle injury, which will now lead to him missing at least one month, Estadio Deportes reported Monday. The U.S. men’s national team forward did not dress in Chivas’ 1-0 league loss to Club America, which was the club’s first loss of Apertura season.

Cowell enjoyed a positive start to the season, winning the Liga MX Player of the Month award for July. He scored three goals and added one assist in four appearances, helping Chivas earn two wins and one draw over that span.

However, his recent absence could force problems for Chivas, who have three matches left this month. Chivas will host Club Leon and Monterrey, while also traveling to Cruz Azul in between.

Cowell, who featured in both of the USMNT’s September friendlies, might not be back in action until after the October international window.
