Five months after his last Premier League appearance, Tyler Adams made his return for AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

Adams played nine minutes off the bench as Bournemouth tied Aston Villa 1-1 at Villa Park on Saturday. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder had missed the opening two months of the Cherries’ season due to back surgery this summer.

He featured for the USMNT at the Copa America despite playing through his injury.

Ross Barkley propelled Aston Villa in front after 76 minutes but the visiting Cherries would fight back to steal one point at the death.

Adams entered the match in the 81st minute and proceeded to watch as Evanilson headed home Marcus Tavernier’s cross for a 1-1 equalizer. The 25-year-old Adams completed three passes and had three touches in the match.

The result gives Bournemouth points in back-to-back weeks following their 2-0 home victory over Arsenal last weekend.

Adams, who finally made his season debut, will aim to feature on November 2 when Manchester City visits the Vitality Stadium.
