Tyler Adams scored a breathtaking goal against Mexico and USMNT fans lost it

The United States men’s national team needed a miracle equalizer from Cory Burke against Jamaica in the semifinal of the Concacaf Nations League just to avoid an embarrassing exit, but the ensuing extra-time victory set up a showdown against Mexico on Sunday night.

The Americans played a close first half against Mexico before Tyler Adams delivered a statement opening goal in the 45th minute, unleashing a rocket from 35 yards that beat Mexico legend Guillermo Ochoa.

It was only Adams’ second goal for the men’s national team, but if he never scores a better goal the rest of his career, he could hardly be disappointed. This was special.

It’s an incredible moment for Adams in a rivalry game, as he’s just returned after being out for nearly a year with a hamstring injury.
