Bayer Leverkusen among clubs keen on move for Atletico Madrid starlet

It would be of no surprise if Arthur Vermeeren left Atletico Madrid before the end of the summer transfer window. The teenager, who signed from Royal Antwerp in January, is behind Koke Resurreccion, Rodrigo De Paul and Pablo Barrios in the midfield pecking order – once Conor Gallagher arrives from Chelsea, he will be behind him too.
A loan move is surely on the cards, and there is sufficient interest in this from clubs across Europe. According to Fabrizio Romano, three sides have registered their interest at this stage: Bayer Leverkusen, Marseille and RB Leipzig.
BREAKING: RB Leipzig, Olympique Marseille and Bayer Leverkusen are keen on signing Arthur Vermeeren on initial loan deal.
Atlético Madrid are open to loaning him out as Vermeeren wants to play regularly this season. Negotiations to follow soon.

Atleti are prepared to accept Vermeeren leaving on a temporary basis, and the player himself wants to play regularly – something that won't happen at the Civitas Metropolitano. Talks will begin soon, and all parties will seek the best possible solution.
It makes complete sense for Vermeeren to be loaned out, especially as it appears that they've switched from a three-man to a two-man midfield – based on the evidence of Monday's match against Villarreal. It will be very interesting to see where the Belgian starlet ends up.
In other Atletico Madrid news, Javi Galan's exit from the club appears complicated after Sevilla pulled out of negotiations to sign him.
JUST IN: Talks between Atlético Madrid and Sevilla for Javi Galan have COLLAPSED. Sevilla is not willing to cover his high salary.
