Amad Diallo makes bold prediction about Manchester United teammate for new Premier League season

Amad Diallo believes Alejandro Garnacho will take his statistics to a whole new level at Manchester United next season.

Garnacho ended the 2023/24 campaign as United’s joint-third highest goalscorer with Scott McTominay on ten goals.

It’s his best tally for a season since making his debut in 2022 and it included a goal in the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

The Argentine also provided five assists but his club teammate Diallo is confident he can reach new heights in the upcoming season.

Garnacho posted an image of himself in United’s new away kit on X and Diallo replied with fire and cold emojis, saying: “30 G/A coming.”

It’s a combined total that would surpass the 20-year-old’s current overall record, which stands at 15 goals and nine assists.

However, Garnacho is now an established first-team regular and he therefore has the potential to further improve his numbers.

The Argentine was an ever-present in the United starting XI last season, although found himself in hot water after ‘liking’ a social media post which criticised his substitution in a Premier League match against Bournemouth in April.

Manager Erik ten Hag revealed Garnacho apologised to him and the pair moved on from the incident.

United fans will be confident he can impress again in the new season following a lack of action over the summer.

He was part of Argentina’s Copa America winning squad but played only one match – 66 minutes of their 2-0 group stage win over Peru.

Garnacho is yet to return for pre-season training though as United gear towards the beginning of another campaign.

Erik ten Hag’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat against Rosenborg in their first friendly match before beating Rangers 2-0.

Premier League rivals Arsenal are their next opponents on Saturday before a test against Real Betis and clash with Liverpool, all of which will be played in the United States.

United then return to England for the season curtain-raiser against City in the Community Shield on August 10.

It will give Garnacho the perfect chance to get up and running early on and helps Diallo’s ambitious prediction turn into reality.
