Bayern Munich's interest in Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is serious, talkSPORT understands.

Bayern have already held talks with Olise's advisers about activating the release clause of around £60m in his Palace contract.

As reported on Thursday, Chelsea have also made an approach to Palace.

Olise’s contract runs until 2027 but appears set for a move away from Selhurst Park this summer.

The 22-year-old has earned rave reviews since making his palace debut in 2021 following an £8.3million switch from Reading.

The midfielder has gone on to score 16 times for the Eagles in 90 appearances.

New Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany knows first hand about Olise's talent and following his spell as Burnley manager.

The Belgian has identified Olise as a priority target with the future of Joshua Kimmich still unclear.

A move to Bavaria would see France under-21 star Olise link up with compatriots Dayot Upamecano, Kingsley Coman, Sacha Boey and Mathys Tel.

It could also open the door to Didier Deschamps' talented first-team squad with N'Golo Kante and Antoine Griezmann both into their 30s.

Palace won't want to lose their star talent but know the funds would offer boss Oliver Glasner an opportunity for further investment in the squad.

Olise inspired the Eagles to a superb end-of-season run of form which saw them win six of their last seven matches including comprehensive victories over Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United.

Newcastle have also registered their interest in Olise as have Manchester United who hope to begin their squad shake up after confirming Erik ten Hag will continue as manager next season.
