‘I appreciate you’ – Lisandro Martinez wows with perfect English as Manchester United man sends message to supporters
Lisandro Martinez gave a fascinating insight into Manchester United’s start to the 2022/23 season – and delivered it in perfect English. The 24-year-old Argentina international, who has spent the last three years in the Netherlands with Ajax, has made an impressive start to life at Old Trafford after his £55million transfer. Martinez revealed all about Man United’s start to the season Any pre-conceived ideas that his 5ft 9in height would be an issue have quickly been swept aside. After back-to-back defeats to start the campaign, the Red Devils won four straight Premier League games with impressive victories over Liverpool and Arsenal. Speaking on the Manchester United TeamViewer player diaries, Martinez said: “In the beginning it was not good, it was not what we wanted. We changed directly after Brentford, changed the mentality, changed the spirit and we did an amazing job against Liverpool and then we keep going. “You can see now every game the team is ready, ready to fight, the connection with each other is incredible.” The centre-back also paid great credit to the Man United fans for their role in helping the team quickly put those defeats behind them. He added: “I’m so happy because we have a connection with the people. It’s like we are not playing alone. We are playing with them, so that’s good.
