Liverpool star Darwin Nunez hit with lengthy ban for Uruguay brawl

Darwin Nunez has been handed a five-game ban after his brawl with fans whilst playing for Uruguay.

The Liverpool striker found himself in hot water after jumping into the crowd to protect his loved ones as his country lost 1-0 to Colombia in the Copa America semi-final.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur has been handed a four-match ban.

However, neither stars’ suspension will impact their eligibility at club level.
