New Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji not only has a supreme talent for football, he is also a mathematical genius. Akanji sealed a £15million switch from Borussia Dortmund on Thursday and will add competition for places in Manchester City’s defence. Akanji’s talent with numbers has seen him likened to a pocket calculator following an appearance on a Swiss television show. “I used to enjoy doing sums in my head,” Akanji told Borussia Dortmund’s official website adding: “I could do it well.” On the show entitled “Wetten, dass…?”, he was asked by a member of the audience: “What is 24 x 75?” Akanji’s immediate response was the correct answer of “1,800.” The show’s presenter was visibly shocked by the defender’s quick reply as were the studio audience.
