Newly-unemployed Loris Karius puts search for new club on hold to enjoy sunshine with fiancé and daughter in Monaco

Loris Karius is sunning it up on holiday with his fiancee and daughter before his search for a new club begins.

Newcastle confirmed the former Liverpool goalkeeper would be released in the summer following the expiration of his contract alongside four other first team players.

Karius’ deal with the Magies officially ends on June 30.

As the club announced his departure, Karius’ fiancee and DAZN presenter Diletta Leotta posted snaps of the couple and their daughter on holiday.

The pair were photographed at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, which saw Charles Leclerc win in dramatic style.

Then on Wednesday Leotta, 32, posted snaps of her and her fiance’s holiday snaps to her 9.1million followers.

“Welcome summer,” she wrote alongside a sun emoji.

The couple’s daughter Aria – who they welcomed to the world in 2023 – featured in the photos, which showed the family enjoying the sunshine surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Italy-born Leotta currently presents the Serie A broadcasts for DAZN and has done since the 2018/2019 season.

Meanwhile, Karius will be looking for another club for the first time in two years.

The 30-year-old made two appearances for the Magpies after signing in September 2022 – the Carabao Cup final against Man United last season and February’s 4-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Prior to his move to St James’ Park, Karius played for Liverpool, who he joined in 2016 from Mainz and eventually earned a spot in the starting XI and was the no.1 during the 2018 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

He was blamed for the mistakes in the 3-1 loss and eventually made way in goal for Alisson, but Jurgen Klopp, who managed him at Anfield, always had good things to say about him.

“He’s a great goalie, that’s why Newcastle signed him,” he said ahead of the 2022 Carabao Cup final. Before Newcastle he played in Turkey for Besiktas.

He has been linked with moves to Italy where Leotta is based.

“I always tell him that the players who come to play in Serie A then fall in love with Italy and often stay there to live forever,” she told Tuttosport in March. “I believe it could happen to him, too.”

When asked if that was a plea to move to Italy, she said: “Loris has people at his side who are working for him. I hope he makes the best choice for his career.”

Pressed on the team she’d like him to join, she added: “I live in Milan and so let’s say that near Milan in terms of comfort would be ideal for us.”

Monza is one team linked, while Como, who have recently been promoted are another.
