American Fork police are trying to find a woman who has Alzheimer's disease

American Fork police are asking for help to find a 69-year-old woman they believe could be in danger.Family members last heard from Luz Del Carmen Almeida, who goes by Carmen, on Wednesday morning. Family members spoke to her on the phone, but when they arrived at her house soon after the call, Almeida and her car were gone, according to a news release.Almeida has Alzheimer's disease, and family members told police that this absence is "highly unusual."Police don't know what Almeida was wearing when she left her house, but she may be driving her white four-door Nissan Altima that has Utah license plate 555USX.Almeida is about 5-foot-5 and weighs 150 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and likes to go to discount clothing stores, like Deseret Industries and Ross, according to the release.Anyone with information about Almeida's whereabouts can call American Fork police at 801-794-3970.
