Club want Bournemouth man signed by start of next week – Deal 'close but not closed'
Valencia intend to have Bournemouth's Max Aarons in place at the club next week but won't sign anything until he's undergone a medical.
That's according to AS, who say the defender's inclusion in Bournemouth's starting 11 does not impede his impending move to Valencia.
A report yesterday indicated that Aarons was on the verge of moving to Valencia on loan until the end of the season. The Spanish side are working hard to strengthen their squad for new manager Carlos Corberán this month.
There was some surprise then, that Aarons is in Bournemouth's starting 11 today for the FA Cup clash against West Bromwich Albion.
This, though, is out of necessity more than anything and AS say that Valencia still intend for the defender to arrive next week.
The agreement with Bournemouth is 'close but not closed' and the Spanish side will not sign it of until Aarons passes the relevant medical exams. Their intention is for him to be a Valencia player from the beginning of next week.
That will allow him time to prepare for the clash against Real Sociedad and then travel to Ourense next Tuesday for the clash in the Copa del Rey.
For now, the transfer is 'pending', and the hope is he gets through today's game unscathed so it can be closed this weekend.
