Berekum Chelsea claimed the bragging rights in the Bono derby with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday.Chelsea started brightly and struck early through Vincent Adjei, who found the net in the third minute to silence the home crowd. Bechem United responded with intent and were rewarded in the 30th minute when Darlvin Yeboah levelled the score. However, the visitors restored their lead just eight minutes later, with Jonah Attuquaye finishing off a swift counterattack to make it 2-1 before the break.Bechem, eager to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Gold Stars, pushed for an equaliser in the second half but failed to break down Chelsea's compact defence. The defeat, their second straight at home, dents their top four hopes and sees them drop to eighth on the table.Chelsea have now climbed to ninth, level on points with Bechem, and will be aiming to build on this momentum when they face Nations FC in their next fixture. Bechem United, meanwhile, will look to bounce back when they travel to face Accra Lions.
