Accra Lions bounced back to winning ways after cruising to a 2-0 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium against Bechem United.Second half goals from Jacob Awoute and Bernard Kesse were enough for the hosts to boost their survival chances.Accra Lions got off to a good start, creating decent chances in the early minutes with Salman Faris and Lucky Nwafor coming close.Faris was sent through by Issa Ibrahim but the winger slipped due to the nature of the pitch which was affected after a downpour in the first half.Halfway into the first half, Fuzy Taylor saw his long drive deflected to corner before Edmund Amakye misfired inside the box from the set-piece.Ebenezer Abban and Boa-At Regain tested Accra Lions with strikes close to the end of the first half.Yao Sokpoli almost gave Accra Lions the lead before half time after connecting to an Nwafor pass.After the break, Lions took advantage of their early chance with Awoute finishing a cross from Edmund Amakye moments after missing a similar chance.Bechem United responded with a swift counter attack with Abban firing from close range but goalkeeper Daniel Afful denied the winger.Amakye struck the crossbar after a brilliant run from the left before Sokpoli threaded in a ball to Nwafor, but Bechem United defender Francis Acquah stopped the move.Accra Lions coach Rainer Kraft replaced Yao Sokpoli and Salman Faris with David Akintunde and Bernard Kesse.The substitutes made an instant impact with Kesse finishing off a brilliant move by the team to double the advantage.Bechem United thought they had pulled one back after Abban headed home from a freekick but the linesman spotted an offside.Lions controlled the final minutes, ensuring they collected all three points at home.
