Former Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities head coach, Maxwell Konadu, beleives Black Stars qualification to the 2026 World Cup is on course.The four-time African champions enhanced their chances of qualification with back-to-back wins during the March international break.The Black Stars recorded a 5-0 win against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium before a 3-0 win against the Malagasy in Morocco, all in the Matchday 5 and 6 games of the qualifiers.The victories have propelled Ghana to the top of Group I with 15 points, with four matches to end the qualifiers.That first win was everything. It brought back belief in the team. Now, we are confident that Ghana can qualify for the World Cup, Konadu told Graphic Sports.Konadu also noted thatthe massive support from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the government and fans was a key factor in the teams recent turnaround.He stated that national unity and motivation have a direct impact on performance, regardless of which players are selected.When the players know the country is behind them, they will give everything. But if the spirit of the nation is missing, it doesn't matter who you invitethey will struggle, he said.The Black Stars will take on Chad and Mali in the next round of games in September.
