Ajax Amsterdam tie down the next Mohammed Kudus

Ajax Amsterdam have extended Ghanaian starlet Don-Angelo Konadu’s contract with the Dutch football powerhouse.

The new contract for the 18-year-old attacker will run until June 2028 and his former agreement ran until mid-2025 having joined the Ajax youth academy in 2014.

Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands to parents of Ghanaian descent, Konadu has been likened to Ghana international Mohammed Kudus who had three successful seasons with Ajax before moving to West Ham United in August 2023.

“Don-Angelo has developed tremendously over the past few years and is also making good progress this season with Ajax U23,” Ajax’s Director of Football, Marijn Beuker said on the club website.

“He is already regularly involved in first-team training sessions by Francesco Farioli.

“We are very pleased with this contract extension and see in Don-Angelo a player with great potential to become a regular in the Ajax first team in the near future.”

Konadu is a Netherlands under-19 international, but he is eligible to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.
