Asante Kotoko Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has confirmed the clubs intention to appoint an expatriate head coach ahead of the next football season.

The Porcupine Warriors recently parted ways with head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum following a string of disappointing results.

In the interim, the club has named former player Abdul Karim Zito as caretaker manager until the end of the current campaign.

Zito, who previously managed Dreams FC and Ghanas U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, will also serve as the clubs Technical Director.

He is being supported on the bench by Prince Yaw Owusu, a former head coach of both Medeama SC and Inter Allies.

With just six games remaining in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, Kotoko are already planning ahead.

Speaking to Kessben TV, Sarfo Duku revealed that the club will begin the process of appointing a new head coach at the end of the season.

At the end of the season, we will officially open applications for the role of head coach," he told Kessben TV."This time, management is keen on bringing in a foreign coach who can bring a new perspective, discipline, and fresh tactical direction to the team," he added.

Asante Kotoko are currently struggling for form, having gone four games without a win. The team will aim to bounce back on Sunday when they welcome Aduana FC to the Baba Yara Stadium for their Matchday 29 fixture. Kick-off is set for 15:00 GMT.
