CAF Confed set to close Group stage with a bang

With the knockout phase of the CAF Confederations Cup on the horizon, all of Group A, C and C will be under the spotlight during matchday six this weekend.

Beginning in Group A, CS Constantine and Simba are scheduled to do battle at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

CS Constantine, who are on a two-match winning streak, currently occupy top spot in Group A with 12 points to their name. However, Simba could overtake the Algerian outfit with a victory on home soil.

In Group C, Jaraaf need just one point to qualify for the next phase of the showpiece when they take on USM Alger at Stade de 5 Juliet on Sunday night. In the adjacent fixture, ASEC Mimosas will welcome Orapa to Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in another telling Group C encounter.

As it stands, ASEC go into their next game 3rd in Group C, three points behind Jareef. A win for ASEC could see the Ivorian side jump into 2nd place, provided Jaraaf suffer defeat at the hands of USM Alger.

Elsewhere, both Al Masry and Enyimba will battle it out for 2nd place in their respective Group D matches this weekend.

Second placed Al Masry accumulated six points after five matches as they prepare to take on Black Bulls at the Borg El Arab Stadium on Sunday evening. With Enyimba trailing the Egyptians by a single point, victory over Zamalek could see the Nigerian outfit overtake Al Masry to 2nd position and subsequently book their spot in the knockout rounds.
