The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to present brand new 4x4 double cabin pickup trucks to the various Regional Football Associations (RFAs) as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots and youth football across the country. The vehicles, funded through the FIFA Forward Project, will support the logistical needs of the RFAs in carrying out developmental activities, particularly at the colts and juvenile football levels.GFA President Kurt Okraku, speaking on the initiative, said the move is part of a broader strategy to enhance grassroots structures nationwide. Our strategy is centred on grassroots development. We have revived colts football everywhere in the country, he noted. The presentation marks another phase in the Associations commitment to decentralising football operations and resourcing regional bodies to function more efficiently. The GFA has also previously implemented programs under the FIFA Forward initiative aimed at supporting infrastructure, training, and administration at the regional level. The vehicles will be officially handed over to the RFAs in a ceremony scheduled for the coming days, with all 10 regional bodies expected to benefit from the initiative.
