Kwaku Oduroh: Former Manchester City midfielder retires at 22

[caption id="attachment_1236322" align="alignnone" width="612"] ENFIELD, ENGLAND - DECEMBER 04: Kwaku Oduroh of Manchester City[/caption]English-born Ghanaian midfielder Kwaku Oduroh has announced his retirement from football at the age of 22.The former Manchester City player hanged up his boots after a year without a club since leaving Derby County in July 2024.It is unclear the reason behind his retirement but Oduroh in a statement confirmed he was 'bidding the game farewell' for a new adventure."To everything there is a season, this day marks the end of one and the beginning of another," wrote Oduroh on Instagram."This good thing has come to an end, I bid the game farewell with my head held high, grateful for the bonds that were built and for the experiences that many could only dream of, I take with me priceless lessons of old into a new future," he added."I see this new thing the Lord is doing and so I can speak with peace and joy as I embrace my purpose beyond the pitch ready to embark on this new journey."Here is to a new beginnings, a new day and a new dawn."Oduroh spent most of his early beginnings in football at City before joining Derby County 2022. He was sent on loan at Rochdale and Hartlepool.He was a two-time English U18 league winner and also won the U21 Cup once.  View this post on Instagram
