'Motsepe is a gift to African football'

CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba reserved special praises to Patrice Motsepe for his attempts to restore 'integrity' in football on the African continent.

Mosengo-Omba mentioned that he, alongside Motsepe, arrived at the CAF offices with a serious debt issue to resolve. It's believed CAF's debt amounted to some $40 million in 2021, while Motsepe often shed light on the matter in the last couple of years.

According to Mosengo Omba, Motsepe is a 'gift' to African football, given his desire to reshape the way CAF operates on the continent.

"I think we will present a [deficit] figure to the CAF congress of less than $12 million," Mosengo-Omba told BBC Sport Africa, as per SNL24.

"For the next fiscal year, [the debt] will be zero.

"Motsepe and his executive coming in was, for me, a gift for African football. When Motsepe came, he put the principle of good governance and integrity in all levels of the organization."
