Nyale makes bold CAFCC claim

Kenya Police chairman Gideon Munga Nyale is confident of overturning a 1-0 deficit against Zamalek to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.
Anthony Kimani’s side made life hard for the defending champions in the preliminary second round first leg at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday and lost to a solitary goal from Sayed Abdallah on the stroke of half-time.
Nyale claimed the White Knights were fortunate to come away from Nairobi with victory and believes his team will not only turn things around in Cairo, but they’ll go on to win the competition for the first time.
“When we beat this team on Friday in Cairo, we will be the champions of the Confederation Cup in Africa. No team will match us,” he declared.
“This was just a game of football. They were lucky to win against us, but come the second leg on Friday, we will secure a victory.”
Nyale was encouraged by the performance of the capital club in the first leg, although he felt a goal or two would have put them in a better position for the trip to Egypt on Friday.
“The match was generally good. We started slowly but eventually picked up, especially after the second-half substitutions. The way we played in the second half – that’s the team that will start in Cairo. We will give them a run for their money,” he added.
“I am proud of the boys and how they played. I have told them that I’m happy. We could have scored at least two goals but were unlucky.”
