The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has pledged the countrys commitment to revitalising sports and restoring its former glory.

In recent years, football in Ghana has faced a significant decline, with the Black Starsfour-time African championsfailing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, marking the first such absence in two decades.

Speaking to the press after meeting with Ghana football icon Abedi Pele on Friday, Kofi Adams hailed the visit as a vital endorsement of the ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance Ghanaian football.

If there is ever a footballer so great that Ghana can talk about, then theres no other person but the one we all describe as the maestro, he said.We are blessed as a ministry to have him call on us. It tells you that we are trying our best to reach out to everybody, and he has positively responded."

The minister expressed optimism regarding the fruits of their collaboration.

Like the previous ones, we saw the results, and I know everything and anything you are involved in, results will come, he said.We will work to make our football great and our sports great again," he added.
