Arsenal initiate contact to sign player – Official Gunners offer expected in 'coming weeks'

Earlier this month, scout Marco Palma reported Arsenal have already asked about signing Palmeiras’ Vitor Reis.
Nosso Palestra backs that up and provides the latest on Gunners interest in the 18-year-old.
Reis graduated from the Brazilian club’s academy and made his way into first team earlier this year. He’s made 22 appearances, and his performances have caught the attention of European clubs, including Arsenal.
Chelsea and Real Madrid have also shown interest in the centre-back and both have made contact to find out the conditions needed to sign him.
The report states Arsenal are ahead and are ‘favourites to sign’ the young defender. The north London club have intensified talks and are willing to take further steps to secure his services.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been in regular contact with the youngster’s camp. It’s claimed they are expected to intensify negotiations before they make an official offer in the ‘coming weeks’.
Back in August, Reis signed a new deal until December 2028 and Nosso Palestra state it includes a €100m clause.
Despite Arsenal intensifying talks, Palmeiras would like to sell him next summer instead of January as they believe European clubs could pay more at the end of the season.
Palmeiras youth coordinator João Paulo Sampaio has recently stated his side would prefer to sell Reis after next summer’s Club World Cup.
