Arsenal man 'still has a lot of market' in Europe – Club holding off despite his 'personal desire'

Palmeiras are convinced that they will bring Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus back to the club at some point in future, but a move in the coming months is unlikely.

That's according to UOL, who say those in charge at the Brazilian club believe Jesus still has a market in Europe and so will be sold there if Arsenal move him on.

Reports over the last few months have linked Palmeiras with a move for their former star, with big signings expected ahead of their participation in the expanded Club World Cup next summer.

Jesus was seen as 'gettable', with it believed he's now on the fringes of Mikel Arteta's plans moving forwards.

There's also been continued links to other forwards around Europe, with Sporting Club de Portugal's Viktor Gyökeres the hot name.

But UOL say even if Arsenal were to sign Gyökeres or someone else, Palmeiras are 'not so sure' that they would be able to bring Jesus back.

The Alviverde board believe the 27-year-old 'still has a lot of market' in Europe and his current income is incompatible with the economic reality of Brazilian football. In plain English, clubs in Europe still want him and his wages are far too high for them to consider.

Palmeiras are sure that Jesus will return to the club at some point in the future and know that is the striker's 'personal desire' but for now, the time for 'repatriation' has not yet come.

They're still planning a signing to replace Endrick and President Leila Pereira has promised the squad will be reinforced for the summer, but those signings will be 'in line with the markets' of recent years and not include the Arsenal striker.
