According to a claim in the Brazilian media, Jorginho's proposed transfer from Arsenal to Flamengo has stalled due to differences over the contract offered to the Italy international.
In recent weeks the 33-year-old has been linked with a move to the Brazilian giants after reports his agent is working on a deal.
Globo today report on the latest developments regarding Flamengo's pursuit for the Arsenal midfielder and they say the player's requests resulted in transfer talks breaking down.
Jorginho has reportedly been offered a contract worth €10m over three years, but the veteran central midfielder has rejected this proposal. Globo report he's looking for a salary of €13m for that period.
Subsequently there’s been no progress with both parties in the past few days and another issue is whether Arsenal would allow him to sign for Flamengo on a free transfer.
It's also reported Mikel Arteta has requested a renewal effort to keep Jorginho for another season and if this is the case the Arsenal hierarchy can activate their option to extend his contract until summer 2026.
