Brentford star asked directly about Arsenal transfer rumour – Hasn't seen it, questions suggestion

Brentford star Mikkel Damsgaard has insisted he's not seen anything about potential interest from Arsenal.

Tipsbladet cover comments from the Brentford man today, from an interview made with TV station Viaplay.

The 24-year-old appears to have finally found his feet in England after struggling considerably following a €15m move in 2022.

Injuries played their part in that, but he has now fully recovered from and established himself as a star this season. He currently has seven assists and two goals in 21 Premier League games for Brentford. That’s a major upturn for a player who managed two assists in 25 games in all competitions last season.

His impressive rejuvenation has not gone unnoticed either, with Brentford boss Thomas Frank regularly praising him. There’s also been praise from fans and pundits alike. That has apparently led to transfer interest.

Indeed, a report this week indicated that the Brentford man could be part of a £93m double raid including Wolves star Matheus Cunha.

Viaplay picked up on that rumour and decided to ask the Brentford star about the idea. It seems, though, he's unaware of it and doesn't believe it's concrete anyway.

"No, I have seen that there was a small rumour. But it is not something that I think is concrete," he said.

"It is good enough that you are put in contact with clubs like this. There was also a lot of that back then after European Championship, but there is rarely much of it that is concrete.

"But it’s nice enough to hear. It is better to hear that you can be rumoured to some bigger clubs than that there might be nothing at all."
