Good Friday morning, TSFers! We've made it through another week, the first full one of 2025. Huzzah! To celebrate, I'm going to make either Greek chicken, spinach and potato stew or coconut chicken and sweet potato hash for dinner tonight. Okay so it's not actually to celebrate, it's just because we need something for dinner and I think my better half would like both of those dishes. I get the New York Times recipe email every day, which I've really enjoyed. I'm very picky about which newsletter-type emails I let hit my inbox, particularly daily, but that one passes muster.

Do y'all have any useful, daily (or weekly) email newsletters you swear by?

Shifting gears, I feel remiss to have not mentioned the horrible devastation in California from the wildfires. I don't really know what to say about it other than I hope that everyone in our community is safe, as are their loved ones and friends. I'm fortunate that I don't have any first-degree connections (people I'm personally family / friends with) that have been affected yet, but I'm only one-degree of separation from people who have lost everything. I cannot even begin to fathom.

I sat staring at my computer screen, trying to find a "way out" of today's CF for a while. Here's where I landed: these are the ways you can donate to help those affected. I'm going to make a donation to World Central Kitchen today — Jose Andres, who founded WCK, lives nearby and I've seen him at the local farmer's market a few times. He's a good person and WCK does good work to feed people in disaster areas.
