Burnley sign midfielder after being impressed – Added to squad for second half of season

There's a claim in the Turkish media that midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has signed for Burnley after leaving Eyüpspor.

The Championship side are looking to add to their squad as they push for promotion to the Premier League, and it's reported the former Liverpool and Newcastle United player has joined them.

Sports Digitale have reported on the latest developments regarding Burnley's pursuit for the experienced central midfielder and they say he's been added to their squad. The Turkish media outlet report the 32-year-old has impressed whilst on trial with the east Lancashire side and has done enough in those training session to earn a contract.

As yet there are no details with regards to the length of contract Shelvey has been given by the English club.

Shelvey was released by Nottingham Forest in the summer after making 29 appearances whilst on loan at Rizespor last season. The were reports during the last window he would be re-signing for the Super Lig side, but he instead joined Eyüpspor.

However, he's been unable to replicate the form he showed at Rizespor and made just six appearances for Eyüpspor in this campaign.
