Defeat for under-21s in first game of the year

A second minute goal from Harry Boyes was enough to give Sheffield United a 1-0 win in the Professional Development League game against us last night at Leyland.

Against a much changed Burnley team who were without Benn Ward, Joe Bauress, Tommy McDermott and Lewis Richardson, Sheffield United looked the more likely although we gave it a go in the final ten minutes of the game.

The teams were;

Burnley: Charlie Casper, Alex Healy-Byrne, Murray Campbell, Logan Pye (Charlie Veevers 68), Joe Ashton, Hamzat Balogun, Brandon Ly (Basilio Rieno Socoliche 81), Tom Tweedy, João Mendes (Ryan Tioffo 65), Kamarni Ryan, Joe Westley. Subs not used: Jon Ander Vilar Robinson, Ben Jordison.

Sheffield United: Luke Faxon, Jack Waldron, Harry Boyes (Zach Giggs 78), Aaron Reid, Zain Tahir, Dovydas Sasnauskas, Sam Curtis (Sam Colechin 77), Sam Aston, Jevan Beattie (Siem Eyob-Abraha 85), Ethan Cummings (Alfie Atherton 85), Marshall Francis. Sub not used: Henry Molyneux.
