Hountondji makes loan move to Belgium

Striker Andréas Hountondji has moved to Belgian club Standard Liège on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
Hountondji joined the Clarets from French club Caen in July on a four-year deal but has found game time difficult to come by.
He made his debut as a late substitute in the first home game of the season against Cardiff, coming on for Luca Koleosho and was in the starting line-up a week later at Sunderland and then again four days later at Wolves for the League Cup.
He's since added a further six substitute appearances alongside one more start at Millwall but a late appearance in the 0-0 home draw against Derby has been his only appearance since the end of November.
With Ashley Barnes having returned to the club, it gives him a chance to get some more game time with this loan which it is understood does not include any option to buy.
Hountondji will celebrate his 23rd birthday this Saturday and we wish him well during the second half of the season at Liège.
