Goalkeeper Sam Waller has today signed a new contract with the Clarets that will keep him at Turf Moor until at least the end of the 2025/26 season with the club having an option for a further year.

Waller, who recently reached the age of 21, has been at Burnley since he was twelve and was under contract until the end of this season. He's predominantly been with the first team squad this season and is now able to look forward.

"It's amazing," he said. "My goal is to play for Burnley and I've been here since the age of twelve. Being able to step out onto the Turf with the first team one day is something that I dream of and I'm looking forward to continuing to push on in the next couple of years.

"Learning off and having those relationships with the senior players and the first team goalkeeping coaches here is only going to make me get better."

He's played in the two Premier League Cup games recently and explained: "I haven't played a game for a while, so I asked to be dropped in and the coaches chose the Premier League Cup games. Being able to play at two historic grounds like Kenilworth Road and Turf Moor in front of the fans was an amazing feeling.

"My main aim for the rest of the season is to keep training every day, improving and working with the coaches."

Congratulations to Sam on his new deal.
