Derby County boss John Eustace has said he would ‘love’ to keep hold of Kane Wilson for longer.

Derby County have a decision to make regarding the long-term future of the defender. His contract with DCFC expires at the end of the season and he is due to become a free agent in late June as things stand.

Wilson, 25, has made 31 appearances in all competitions so far in this campaign, 29 of which have come in this campaign, and they have chipped in with two goals and one assist. He is a regular for the Rams and enjoys plenty of game time.

Eustace has said, as per a report by BBC Sport: “I think Kane’s a fantastic young player who I’m really enjoying working with and who I’d love to keep working with. He’s been excellent, he’s a player I watched a lot when he was younger at West Brom and when I was at Kidderminster, I actually looked at trying to get him on loan.”

Derby County are battling to preserve their Championship status and are placed in 21st position in the table above Cardiff City with four fixtures left to play. They drew 2-2 away at Portsmouth last time out.
