Hull City and Norwich City face Jose Mourinho competition in pursuit of attacker target

Hull City and Norwich City face competition from Fenerbahce in pursuit of Deportivo Tachira attacker Luis Fernando Carrero, according to journalist Rudy Galetti on X.
Hull City and Norwich City are both interested in luring the player to England this summer. HCAFC and NCFC will need to see off competition from elsewhere though if they are to land him.
Carrero, 18, is a left footed winger who can also play down the middle in an attacking midfield role as well if needed. He is being tipped for a bright future in the game and his current club could face a battle to keep hold of him down the line.
TEAMtalk claimed last month that the Tigers and the Canaries wanted him along with some unnamed Premier League, LaLiga and Portuese Liga sides. In this latest update regarding his situation, reporter Galetti on X has suggested that Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce have now joined the chase for his signature and are ‘considering’ a move.
Hull City are in a relegation battle in the Championship and find themselves in 20th position in the table, three points above the drop zone. Meanwhile, Norwich City are mid-table in 13th place with only four fixtures left.
Hull City and Norwich City update regarding Luis Fernando Carrero
Hull City’s owner Acun Ilicali is on the board of Fenerbahce. HCAFC have used their links with the Turkish giants over recent years to sign players.
The Tigers and Norwich City may have identified Carrero as a potential addition for later this year. He could be seen as someone to boost their respective attacking ranks.
He is under contract with Deportivo Tachira until December 2026 meaning they are under no pressure to sell him just yet and they can wait for the right offer to come in for his signature if they are to consider letting him go.
The Venezuela youth international has been on their books for his whole career to date and has risen up through their academy ranks. Carrero has been a regular for them at various different youth levels.
Will Hull City or Norwich City move for Luis Fernando Carrero?
Time will tell whether Hull City or Norwich City make an official move for Carrero in the next window. Fenerbahce’s interest may now throw a spanner in the works.
It is hard for the Tigers in particular to plan their recruitment as they don’t know what league they will be in next term. Ruben Selles’ side are back in action on Friday with an away trip to Swansea City before a home clash against Preston North End on Monday.
As for Norwich City, they don’t have too much to play for now. They take on Portsmouth at Carrow Road up next before they lock horns with Millwall at The Den.
