Leeds United are exchanging documents with Real Betis for Marc Roca to make his move to the Spanish side a permanent one.

That's according to Diario de Sevilla, who report than an announcement on the deal is imminent for the midfielder after the two sides came to an agreement on a permanent deal for him.

The newspaper reports that Betis have already reached an agreement with Leeds to sign Roca on a permanent basis after his loan deal at the club this season.

Manuel Pellegrini's side had been keen to keep him because of his performances for them this year and, rather than extending his loan deal into a second year, sought to make the move permanent.

Leeds initially sought €12m but Betis have been able to negotiate them down considerably to agree a deal worth just under €5m in total.

They used the fact that Leeds are in the Championship, need the money and that Roca was in the final year of his deal at Elland Road to their advantage to negotiate a price that suited them.

The operation is now in the final phase and both clubs are already exchanging the relevant documents with the aim of formalising the transfer and ensuring Roca is their player before Betis start pre-season at the Luis del Sol Sports City on July 8th.
