Sevilla’s Kelechi Iheanacho has been linked with a move to Leeds United in the winter market.

On January 23rd, Soccer Nigeria came out with an exclusive report stating Leeds could be the striker’s next destination. They weren’t clear whether it would be loan or a permanent transfer.

Since then, there’s been claims in the UK on Leeds’ interest in the 28-year-old, who could leave the Spanish club in this window.

Friday’s editions of Diario de Sevilla and ABC Sevilla both cover his situation, and it can be encouraging for the Whites.

The Nigeria international has been limited to just over 400 minutes from eight league games this season and hasn’t featured since mid-December.

Diario de Sevilla’s title says the Leeds target ‘continues to mull over offers’.

His dip in form hasn’t stopped him from attracting interest from the Championship, France and Greece.

Sevilla sporting director Víctor Orta is focusing on carrying out exit operations and the Nigeria international is one of the main candidates.

ABC Sevilla state the possibility of selling the former Leicester City man looks unlikely. Therefore, a loan move looks on as it can help them get rid of some of his €3.5m per year gross salary.

With Leeds said to be in the picture, they have an opportunity to sign Iheanacho on loan before Monday’s deadline.
