Preston North End keen on Mansfield Town ace this summer

Preston North End are admirers of Mansfield Town attacker Will Evans ahead of the summer, according to reporter Dan Marsh on X.
Preston North End are interested in landing the League One man in the next transfer window. PNE are currently sat in 16th place in the Championship table with five fixtures left to play.
Evans, 27, has been a key player for Mansfield Town this season and has made 45 appearances in all competitions, 39 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with 11 goals and three assists. His contract at Field Mill expires in June 2026 meaning he still has over 12 months left to run.
In this latest update regarding his future with the Stags by journalist Marsh on X, the player is said to be liked by the Lilywhites and others. His current club may well face a battle to retain his services later this year.

Preston North End could see Evans as someone to boost their attacking ranks.
Mansfield Town landed him last year following their promotion from League Two along with Stockport County, Wrexham and Crawley Town.
He has since adapted well to life in Nottinghamshire and he looks to help Nigel Clough’s side officially stay up.
Evans was on the books at Shrewsbury Town as a youngster before spells at Llangedwyn, Cardiff Metropolitan University and Bala Town.
Newport County took a gamble on him in 2022 and he went on to become a key player during his time in South Wales.
He scored 29 goals in 107 matches, 25 of which came in the last campaign, to earn his switch to Mansfield Town.
Following his transfer to the Stags, he said, as per BBC Sport: “I’m buzzing to be here. I can’t wait to start this new challenge. I’m over the moon to be here and will give my all for the club.”
Meanwhile, the Exiles’ chairman Huw Jenkins, formerly of Swansea City, added: “We are obviously disappointed to lose Will after such a good campaign last season. But he is in the last year of his contract and expressed a strong desire to test himself at a higher level.”
What now for Preston North End target Will Evans?
Preston North End would need to fork out a fee to lure Evans away from Mansfield Town.
He has proved he can score goals in the third tier and another move up a level would be the next natural progression for him.
