Blackett-Taylor, 27, has played 13 matches for the Rams this season and has chipped in with one goal. His contract at Pride Park expires in the summer of 2027.

In this latest update regarding his condition, Eustace has said, as per a report by BBC Sport: “I haven’t seen any of Corey since I’ve been here so that was really exciting to watch him train today. It will be a bit too early for him in the next couple of games but it gave everyone a boost to have him on the training pitch.”

Derby County are back in action on Friday with a crucial clash against relegation rivals Luton Town. The Rams head into the game on the back of their 2-2 draw against Portsmouth last time out at Fratton Park.

The Rams are positioned in 21st place in the table and are a point above Cardiff City. They have four fixtures left to play in this campaign as they look to get over the line.

Getting Blackett-Taylor back will be a boost for Derby County. He gives them something different going forward.

The former England youth international is a pacey player and provides competition and depth. He is yet to feature since Eustace’s arrival from Blackburn Rovers.

As his manager alluded to, their upcoming matches against Luton Town and West Brom will come too soon for him. However, he could feature in their final two games against Hull City and Stoke City.

The Rams swooped to land Blackett-Taylor from Charlton Athletic back in January 2024 to bolster their ranks. He helped them gain promotion from League One last year under former head coach Paul Warne.

When is Corey Blackett-Taylor back for Derby County?

It has been a frustrating term for Blackett-Taylor at Derby County. He could be back by next weekend though following his return to training which is good news for him and his club.

The Midlands-born man rose up through the academy ranks at Aston Villa and played twice for their first-team. He was also loaned out to Walsall to get some experience under his belt.

Tranmere Rovers snapped him up permanently in 2019 and he spent two years at Prenton Park before Charlton Athletic came calling. He then fired 20 goals in 97 outings for the Addicks before his move to Derby County came about.
