Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham is unlikely to start against Bristol City but is set to be in the squad, Regis Le Bris has confirmed.

Sunderland are heading for the Championship play-offs, already confirming their top six spot with their automatic promotion fight all but mathematically over. SAFC are sitting 4th and highly likely to remain there for the rest of the regular season.

Nonetheless, these games between now and the play-offs will be important. The tough task for the Black Cats will be maintaining momentum when they effectively have nothing to play for.

That task becomes significantly harder when they’re up against sides with it all still to fight for, one being upcoming Good Friday opponents Bristol City. However, in positive news, Jobe Bellingham is likely to be back in the squad for the clash.

Speaking pre-game, SAFC boss Regis Le Bris revealed Bellingham is unlikely to start, but he will have a part to play against the Robins. As quoted by the Sunderland Echo, he said:

“Jobe will be available, he probably won’t be a starter at Bristol but he will be available. It was important for him to recover properly.”

Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin is set to be back against Blackburn Rovers on Easter Monday, while Leo Hjelde is poised to be available again too.

Le Bris also hinted that Enzo Le Fee is ready to start again after appearing off the bench against Swansea.
