Blackburn Rovers lock horns with Millwall at Ewood Park on Friday in their upcoming Championship match.

Blackburn Rovers won 1-0 away at Luton Town last time out at Kenilworth Road. Yuki Ohashi scored Rovers’ winner against the Hatters.

Youngster Kristi Montgomery was sent off in the second half in Bedfordshire, but his side held on to secure all three points.

It has been a tough spell for Valerien Ismael since his switch to Lancashire but he has his first win now. The former Barnsley, West Brom and Watford man was picked as John Eustace’s replacement following his exit to Derby County.

As for Millwall, they are still in with a shout of getting into the play-offs. They are positioned in 9th place in the table.

The Lions are only three points behind Coventry City in 6th and are level on points with West Brom and Middlesbrough. They have four fixtures left to play this season.

Alex Neil’s side won 1-0 at home to Middlesbrough in their last outing. January signing Camiel Neghli got their winner against Michael Carrick’s men as they secured an important three points.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Harry Mail

Blackburn Rovers’ season has fizzled out and they don’t have much to play for. Rovers have been poor since Valerien Ismael came in.

“They have struggled for results and haven’t recovered from John Eustace’s exit. They will be relieved to have won against Luton Town though to stop the rot.

Millwall have to win this one if they are to make a late charge into the play-offs. Their hopes of getting into the top six are still alive.

“The Lions have been in decent form recently and should be full of confidence. I can see them getting another win here in Lancashire.”

Prediction: Blackburn Rovers 0-2 Millwall

Who plays at Elland Road?

James Ray

“That was an important win for Blackburn Rovers over Luton Town. It certainly wasn’t pretty but it didn’t need to be, at least Ismael has his first triumph on the board.

“Up against a Millwall side still vying for a play-off place though, I can’t see Rovers getting a run going to end the season.

“The Lions just keep plugging away in their bid to close the gap to the top six. It has been a really impressive run from Alex Neil’s side and even if they come up short, the South Londoners will take real value from this push.

“I’ll say they keep it going heading into the final three games too. I’ll go for an away win here.”

Prediction: Blackburn Rovers 1-2 Millwall
