"Such a big icon" – Coventry City on transition from Mark Robins to Frank Lampard

Coventry City goalkeeper Oliver Dovin has spoken to the Swedish media about his thoughts on the arrival of Frank Lampard.
The former Cheslea and England star replaced Mark Robins in November after a run of poor results for the Championship side.
Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, Dovin was asked about Lampard being installed as Coventry City's new manager and the transition from when Robins left the club.
The Sweden international said with Lampard being so renowned in world football it has brought a lot of focus on Coventry City.
Dovin went on to say he’s seen the benefits in what he can learn from the 46-year-old in training sessions, and the experience he’s brought to the club.
"I was happy because he is such a big icon in the world and in England. Everyone knows who he is, which means that Coventry as a club gets more attention. To be close to him every day and learn from what he can give out with his experience is just good," said the Coventry player.
On Robins being shown the door, he said: “It’s difficult in this business. He had taken them up from League 2 to the Championship and was here for seven years, I think. It didn’t go so well and we were a point above the relegation places. So it’s more the owner who makes the decision. Shocked and surprised, I don’t know.
“I think a lot of people were shocked because he’s a kind of icon at the club. But if you look at where we were in the table and how things had gone in terms of expectations, maybe you could say it was understandable.”
Dovin only signed for Coventry City in the summer was instantly installed as Robins' first choice goalkeeper.
However, a dip in form saw the 22-year-old lose his place in the starting eleven, but since the arrival of Lampard he's regained the No.1 shirt.
Coventry City now see themselves with an outside chance getting into the Championship play-offs after their early season struggles under Robins, and are just seven points behind 6th placed Blackburn Rovers.
