Borussia Dortmund make 'formal' loan offer for Chukwuemeka — reports

Chelsea have made it pretty clear that Carney Chukwuemeka doesn't feature in our short- and perhaps our long-terms plans either, but outside of a few stray rumors, there hadn't been much talk about him in this transfer window.

Thankfully, on the final weekend, we now have a "formal offer" from Borussia Dortmund for the 21-year-old's loan, which may or may not also have an option to make it permanent at the end of the season. Chelsea were said to be looking for a more definitive solution (i.e. a transfer or a loan-obligation) but as we've surely found out more times than (should be) needed, it's not so easy to find such solutions as we might have imagined in our galaxy-brained squad ... "building"?

In any case, Chukwuemeka has hardly played this season, restricted to just five appearances and one start, mostly in the Conference League. He has managed to collect over 30 first-team appearances since coming over from Villa 2.5 years ago, but his involvement has been trending the wrong way for some time now. BVB seems like an ideal place for him to get his development back on track.
