WINNER WINNER PIECE OF CAKE DINNER

Chelsea were massive favorites coming in against fourth-division Barrow AFC, and we lived up to those expectations with a lopsided win to secure our place in the fourth round of the League Cup.

After a few careless mistakes in the opening minutes, Chelsea quickly got down to business, scoring inside of ten minutes, doubling that lead on the quarter-hour mark (both by Christopher Nkunku), and making it 3-0 by the half hour by way of an own goal. We seemed happy enough with that for the first 45.

Chelsea came out strong from the break as well, and quickly added a fourth with Pedro Neto getting his first for the club.

We gave Barrow a bit of a sniff in the final period of the match, but would maintain the clean sheet ... while missing a few presentable opportunities at the other end, including one from young Tyrique George. But Nkunku would still complete his hat-trick after some silliness from the Barrow goalkeeper

Job done.

Carefree.

  • Fully rotated starting XI, with Cesare Casadei making his first appearance of the season and Malo Gusto getting a rehab start
  • Gusto off at the half; Ben Chilwell coming on for his season debut and taking the armband from Axel Disasi
  • Chukwuemeka also makes his first appearance of the season
  • Assists from Félix, Gusto, Mudryk
  • Draw for the next round tomorrow
  • Next up: Brighton at home on Saturday
  • KTBFFH
