Chelsea are furious with Liverpool after they signed highly rated youngster Rio Ngumoha from them in the summer according to reports.

The talented teenager swapped Stamford Bridge for Anfield in the summer window and signed a scholar's contract with the Reds as he begins what he hopes will be a path to first team football.

The 16-year-old is regarded as a top talent and he featured for Chelsea's under-21 side as a 15-year-old, showing just how a big talent he is.

Ngumoha was named Chelsea's player of the tournament when the Blues won the national title at under-16 level last year.

It was reported at the time that one of the reasons Ngumoha decided to leave for Liverpool was because of the pathway available to young players at Liverpool.

The Daily Mail have now reported that Chelsea are furious with Liverpool over their move for the teenager and a tribunal will now decide how much compensation the Blues will receive for Ngumoha, with the report adding Chelsea feel they have lost a generational talent.

The fallout from the move has seen Chelsea block requests from Liverpool scouts to attend their youth games, whilst the Anfield club have themselves done the same to their Stamford Bridge counterparts.

In the world of PSR academy players are more important than ever with a lot of clubs now selling the players they produce to ensure they don't fall foul of Premier League rules, as they count as pure profit on the accounts.

Chelsea could find themselves losing another talented youngster in Josh Acheampong with the teenager currently frozen out unless he signs a new contract at the club, with his current deal due to expire in 2026.

The Blues have a long history of their Cobham academy producing top players with Levi Colwill and Reece James examples of those in the first team, whilst countless other players have gone on to have very successful careers.
