Just asking

With talk of a potential exit for Christopher Nkunku (if not now, then surely in the summer), the very real prospect of a very long suspension for Mykhailo Mudryk (still waiting for that B-sample), and our sporting directors looking to justify their existence, Chelsea are said to be on the lookout for "right-sided" attacking players "who can play off the left or through the middle".

That's a broad enough definition to include just about any talented (and of course young because BlueCo) attacking player, so we now have tenuous links to the likes of Karim Adeyemi, and a pair of 20-year-olds in Alejandro Garnacho, and Jamie Gittens.

According to The Athletic, we've already "made enquiries" about the latter duo, though "conversations remain at an early stage", which basically means that there's nothing to see here beyond a nice headline.

Garnacho's future, like just about everyone else's future at Manchester United including Chelsea-linked Kobbie Mainoo, is under question as new manager Ruben Amorim tries to right their ship, though they're said to have rejected €50m overtures from Napoli already.

Jamie Gittens, once very, very briefly of Chelsea, is having his long-expected breakout season at Borussia Dortmund and considering his strong Manchester City ties, would seem to be a much more likely candidate for an actual serious approach from us. Bayern Munich are already sniffing around, so we'd have to move quickly.

Adeyemi, about to turn 23, is practically ancient compared to those two, but we've been linked with him before and were recently linked again. That may have been debunked already, but it fits the building narrative, so might as well mention it.
