Maresca's impact will have taken many by surprise and he's been able to quickly instil an identity and style of play, both of which were missing last season.
Chelsea's main aim this season is to get back into the Champions League having not been in it for the past two seasons, and they remain on track to achieve that.
The Blues are currently nine points behind leaders Liverpool and despite Maresca playing down talk of a title race on numerous occasions it hasn't stopped people talking about it.
Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan believes the Blues are best placed to challenge Liverpool this season and has them ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal.
For Chelsea's young team it feels like it's a year too early but with the way this season is going you can't rule anything out.
Former Blue Petit has shared his thoughts and feels Chelsea can't be ruled out and backed the Blues to provide the toughest test for Liverpool.
"I was with another former player [Gary Neville] the other day and they said Chelsea have no chance, but I disagree," he told The Evening Standard.
"I look at the schedule and they have a very favourable run and have also played against almost every big team so far this season.
