One Chelsea player has been open and honest when asked about having to play out of position, and he has also explained what the rest of his team mates think about this as well.

We have seen it on a number of occasions in recent seasons, and many fans and pundits have called it player mis-profiling.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea now looking at versatile Bundesliga defender for potential pending move!

However, Chelsea defender Levi Colwill says it is just part of football changing and it is just a normal thing now for players to play in plenty of different positions on the pitch and be versatile.

Colwill has been speaking to the media this week whilst out on international duty with England. Just like last season with Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino, Colwill may well be asked to play as a left back with the national side this week.

Colwill says football is changing

Colwill is asked by The Guardian whether people ought to stop being so obsessed with positional labels. "Yes, definitely," he replies. "Football is changing in a way that you can play multiple positions in a game – in possession, out of possession. For me, position doesn't matter, I'll play anywhere to help the team and the majority of the squad think like that."

I can see both sides of this to be honest. It's great to be versatile. But I really like to see players nailing down and perfecting one position, I honestly think that is what gets the best out of them. Becoming an expert of your position rather than swapping and changing all the time. But I do also agree with what Levi has said here and that it's just part of modern football.
