One former Chelsea captain has told one current player at the club to stop trying to play football and also offers some further advice to those around him.

The Blues lost 2-1 to Liverpool on Sunday evening, and everyone has seemingly had their say on the game overall and perhaps who might have been at fault for Chelsea losing.

EXCLUSIVE! Barcelona have keen interest in THREE Chelsea players with agent contact made!

Pundits such as Jamie Carragher of Sky Sports has placed blame on goalkeeper Robert Sanchez for not doing enough to stop Curtis Jones scoring what ended up being the winning goal for Liverpool, and a s a result, Carragher believes Chelsea need to sell Sanchez now and replace him if they are to want to challenge for the Premier League.

I think this is an opinion that will be shared by many Chelsea fans too. But perhaps not by Frank Leboeuf, who used to play for Chelsea and even wore the captains armband during some of his time at the club in the 90s.

Lebouef wants Sanchez to stop playing out

Sanchez closing his eyes for Jones' goal!

Speaking on ESPN FC, he said: "As long as Sanchez stops trying to play football when they give him the ball, he's fine because he's made good saves since the beginning of the season.

"But he put himself in danger and I don't know what his teammates are doing giving him the ball back and putting him in danger and forcing him to try to play."

Sanchez is obviously not going to stop playing out from the back and the players are obviously not going to stop playing it back to them either. This is just the way that they play and to be honest, is just modern football now as well. You don't see many teams not playing out short from the back anymore, across most levels of the game.
